A BIT ABOUT ME…. I am part of an extensive family that is a bottomless pit of stories, relationships, feelings and entanglements. Watching and listening to all these stories is how I decided I wanted to make films, to show the complexity of the human condition and the complexity of family relationships in particular.
I graduated in Audiovisual Communication by the Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona, after spending a year at the University of California, where I made the experimental short films “Women” and “Lovers” along with Marco Businaro. I then enrolled in a MA TV Fiction course organized by the Catalan Television and directed the pilot episode, “La Clínica”, broadcasted on TV3. That same year the TVC entrusted me an educational film for TV3 Marathon.
Awarded with the prestigios scholarships of Obra Social “la Caixa”, I then moved to the UK to study at the London Film School. There, I wrote and directed the documentary “Born Positive” and the fiction “Lipstick”, both short films selected in numerous international film festivals. “Las Pequeñas Cosas” is my graduation film for which I received a Distinction and it also traveled to several festivals. My last short film is “Llacunes”, a very personal project made with my mum’s letters.
“Estiu 1993” is my debut film, produced by Inicia Films and Avalon. It premiered at the Berlinale 2017 where it won the Best First Film Award and the Generation Kplus Grand Prix Jury Award. It also won the Golden Biznaga at Málaga Film Festival, the Jury Mention at Istanbul Film Festival or the Best Direction at BAFICI, amongst others.
While developing my second feature film, I teach film to children through Cinema en Curs in Barcelona.

“Las pequeñas cosas” (Those little things”) is the story of a complex and interdependent relationship between a mother and a daughter who struggle to live together. Ana (40 years old) suffers achondroplasia – dwarfism – and her mother (70 years old), a beautiful, elegant and sophisticated woman, has never accepted her daughter’s condition. The muted taboos between the two women resonate more than ever as they prepare the house for the visit of Juan – the son and brother who lives away from home – and his new girlfriend.
