ANTONIO GIL APARICIO
Antonio Gil Aparicio, (Extremadura 1964) has spent thirty years as a filmmaker telling stories through a camera. As a director, producer and scriptwriter he has worked in advertising, on promotional, fiction and documentary films as well as on TV series for which he has been recognised both nationally and internationally. He is also a theatre director with plays which have won national awards. He is currently working on his next fiction feature film.
He has been Director of Audiovisual Media and the Filmotheque of Extremadura promoting institutional support for film, short films and new Spanish cinema in the región. He has also promoted film festivals and educational initiatives such as the International Youth Film Festival as well as the presence of the audiovisual sector in international markets such as Cannes or Berlin. He is a member of ALMA, (part of the Filmmakers union); ADAEX (Audiovisual Association of Extremadura) and Vicepresident of the organising association for the Merida Festival de Cine Inédito.
